A hattrick from Kareem Isiaka pushed Charlon Athletic past a competitive Cayman Islands Select B Team 4-1  on the opening night of the Cayman Airways Invitational Youth Cup.

Isiaka gave the visitors the lead in the fourth minute , which they took into the half time break. On the restart Akeem Hydes showed his speed to get behind the Charlton defence and slotted a composed finish past keeper Billy Hick to even the score in the 49th.

Hydes’ goal gave the home team a spark of life and for the next ten minutes, Cayman matched up well with Charlton, before Isiaka (59th, 68th) and Luke Carey (65th), completed the victory.

In the earlier fixture, Real Espana from Honduras edged past Harbour View of Jamaica 1-0.

The tournament continues on Thursday with the Cayman Islands Select B team tackling IMG Academy of the United States before the Cayman Islands Select A team faces Harbour View of Jamaica.
