GEORGE TOWN, Cayman Islands – If the start of the new Premier League season is an indication of things to come, Cayman Islands football fans should prepare for an exciting new campaign after some surprising week one results.

Cayman Brac overcame a nervous start and half time deficit to draw with reigning Champions Bodden Town 2-2. Bodden Town made a bright start and continued the sharp attacking they showed to win the Charity Shield title a week earlier, with Joshwa Clarke opening the scoring in the 42nd.

Bodden Town doubled the advantage in the 55th  through Yefry Calderon. Going down 2-0 kick started a fightback from Cayman Brac and Denrick Gayle offered some hope with a goal in the 69th.

With time running out Carlos Matute gave his side their first points in Premier League competition with a goal in the 94th minute.

Roma United SC announed their return to the top flight by upsetting George Town SC 2-0. Goals from Gavin Reynolds (47th) and Gawayne Speed propelled Roma to an impressive victory over George Town

In other results, Elite SC got a goal from Mark Ebanks to overcome Sunset 1-0. A double strike from David Connolly  (42nd, 56th) gave Cayman Athletic SC a 2-1 victory over Scholars International. Odaine Plinton scored for Scholars.
