Serena Nelson scored a hat trick and Chelsea Green a double to propel Elite SC to A 6-1 victory over a brave Scholars International team in the Cayman Islands Football Association under 15 Final.
With the CONCACAF under 15 Girls tournament mere months away, players from both teams advertised their quality for coaches and officials on hand.
Nelson and Green were particularly impressive collecting the all five goals in the victory and will look to add the FA Cup crown to their trophy case on Thursday 29, May 2014. Cassie Dawkins also found the target for Elite as both teams wrapped up the season with committed, hard working performances.
Director of Women’s Football and Elite Sports Club President Martha Godet praised both teams for their effort.
“I am so proud of the player’s enthusiasm playing this league and we need to ensure that we maintain this level of commitment, Godet told CaymanFootball.com.
Despite competing with nine players, Scholars battled hard and got reward thanks to ever impressive Thalia Naranjo.
“Despite Scholars playing with 2 players short, they gave Elite girls a hard time and the level of play from both teams were really good,” Godet added.
“Both teams deserve to be in the Final, Tigers eliminated Elite in the semi-finals in PK’s and Scholars eliminated Sunset. I also would like to commend Sunset for their fighting hard team spirit, I suspect next season they will be a team to watch out for.”
“Congratulation to all players for their great performance in particular the defence line,” Godet exclaimed.
Before the next season, look out for several of these players on the national team, competing from August 6-17 against the best in the region in the CONCACAF Under 15 tournament
