Dwayne Wright 11 goals

Two of Cayman’s more prolific goal scorers in recent years were at it again during the FA Cup semifinals last weekend.

Dwayne ‘Gaza’ Wright of Elite S.C and Elena Testori of Sunset S.C. got on the score sheet to propel their clubs to the FA Cup finals in the men’s and women’s semifinals respectively.

Elena Testori used her experience to guide Sunset S.C to a 2-0 victory over a brave Elite S.C. team. Teenager Natalie Simpson opened the scoring in the 10th before Testori hit the back of the nets in the 45th.

The reigning queens of local football advance to face Scholars International in a rematch of the President’s Cup Final.

Scholars International 2 Alliance 0

Captain Kaela Ebanks hit the target Scholars earned their spot in the final against Sunset. Scholars had to wait until the final 10 minutes to get past a committed Alliance F.C team.

Ebanks was on target in the 86th and Susani McLaughlin doubled the lead three minutes later in the 89th.

Cayman Athletic 1 Bodden Town

Jerone Mclean hit the target in the 47th minute to send Cayman Athletic to their first senior championship final this season with a 1-0 upset win over Bodden Town.

Mclean and David Connolly are the face of a team emerging in the top flight of Cayman Football.

Elite S.C 3 George Town 0

In contrast, Cayman Athletic will face a team with vast Championship experience in Elite S.C.

Marvin Boothe opened the scoring for Elite in the 16th minute before Dwayne Wright put the result in the bag late.

Wright scored in the 88th and 90+3 minutes to send his team to the final on May 17.
